Earnings Exemptions
- Earnings exemptions are available to individuals on income assistance who are not expected to become financially independent.
- On March 1, 2006, the earnings exemptions increased to $500 per month for Persons with Disabilities and Persons with Persistent Multiple Barriers.
- Earnings exemptions allow eligible income assistance clients to earn income (up to the monthly limit) in addition to full shelter and support assistance.
- These exemptions encourage eligible individuals who want to work and are able to work to maintain their skills, participate more fully in the workplace and have greater financial independence.
