Serving It Right: B.C.’s Responsible Beverage Service Program

Serving It Right

Serving It Right is a mandatory self-study course that educates licensees, managers and servers about their legal responsibilities when serving alcohol, and provides effective techniques to prevent problems related to over-service. Serving It Right is administered by go2 – B.C.’s tourism industry human resources association.

Effective April 1, 2009 servers who have current certification from another Canadian jurisdiction are exempt from the Serving It Right requirement in British Columbia. Licensees and managers however, are still required to have Serving It Right even if you are certified elsewhere.
