Find Out About Inspections
All licensees are responsible for knowing and following the rules set out in the Liquor Control and Licensing Act and Regulations, and the specific terms and conditions of their licence.
Once you have an agent's licence, your local liquor inspector may visit or call you to make sure you are aware of, and complying with, the Act and Regulations and your licence terms and conditions.
A Liquor Control and Licensing Branch investigator may also ask to see your account books and records periodically, to make sure your accounting practices are in line with both the Liquor Control and Licensing Act, and may contact you to follow-up on a complaint or report of questionable activity. (The Liquor Distribution Branch also has the authority to oversee how liquor products are distributed and ask for audit information).
For detailed information about inspections and enforcement, see the fact sheet entitled Liquor Control and Licensing Enforcement Process (LBCL168).
