2010 Olympic and Paralympic Liquor Licence

In 2010, British Columbia will host the XXI Olympic Winter Games and the X Paralympic Winter Games.

Olympic/Paralympic Liquor Licence Application

Government has approved a new, temporary Olympic/Paralympic liquor licence designed to enable the licensing of events and venues which do not fit within the structure of the current liquor licensing regime. You will need the following documents

If you plan to apply, please also contact the applicable local government where your establishment will be located to ensure you are aware of any additional requirements they may have. You may for example, be required to get a development permit.

Important: The process to get your liquor licence and local government permits in place takes approximately four months. Please apply early, and no later than November 15, 2009, as we cannot guarantee your licence will be processed in time if you apply after that date.

Members of National Olympic Committees, foreign governments and sponsors wishing to bring liquor into B.C. from their host country must contact the Liquor Distribution Branch to arrange for a special order, as all liquor sold in B.C. must be purchased through the Liquor Distribution Branch. As special orders may take several months to complete, please call the Special Orders Division at 604 252-3188 to make these arrangements as soon as possible.
