The BC Employment and Assistance Program assists British Columbians in need to achieve their potential by providing temporary assistance, disability assistance, supplementary assistance and employment programming.

Complete and accurate information must be provided to the Ministry of Housing and Social Development. This information may be checked and verified by ministry staff.

The information you provide about your circumstances, family, income or assets will be checked for completeness and accuracy.

This might involve a second interview, residency verification or other checks with persons or agencies who can verify the information you provide.

A decision regarding eligibility for assistance will not be made until all required documentation and information is provided.

In addition, information regarding dependent youth must be submitted before eligibility can be determined.

Please note that requested information must be provided and ministry requests for an interview must be responded to within one week of the request, for your application for assistance to be considered.

During this time, if you wish to discuss your application, provide more information or if you determine that you do not require income assistance, please contact your local Employment and Assistance office.
